Ale Prade (Alexandre Augusto da Veiga Prade) is a musician, composer, arranger, musical producer, poet and a painter. He is married to Cristiane Agra Ferraz da Veiga Prade, a psychologist and music therapist, father of Theo and Nina. Ale was born in August, 18 th of 1968. From an early age he showed a profound interest to the creative act and all its multiple manifestations. In 1977 he started his music studies as a flute player at FAP- Arte in São Paulo under the guidance of H.J.Koellreutter and Laura Abrãao, with whom he was able to also study music perception, formal analises, functional and traditional harmony. Ale Prade studied counterpoint with Vera Cury, classic guitar with Henrique Pinto and Giacomo Bartolloni and piano and music history with Maria de Lourdes Zicari BelPiede.
After that, concomitant to the composing and conducting course in college, in 1988 he became part of the selected group of students of the conductor H.J.Koellreutter, from whom he learned composition, orchestration, aesthetics, counterpoint history, classical and modern phenomenological analises of music. Ale started his researches in music technology, sound synthesis, computer assisted compositions, MIDI and sound engineering. Ale introduced himself in the universe of electroacoustic music, a work that he continuously develop in his own music studio. There he also does music productions, recordings, mixing, sound-design, compositions, videos as well as music courses.
In the realm of the paintings, Ale Prade closely followed the work of the sculptor, Elke Hering and the painter Silvio Pléticos. In 1982 he started producing his own black ink drawings and water color. A few years passed and Ale worked as an illustrator and started prints also. He developed a technique of foam prints, using materials with different sizes and densities.
Latter on Ale took a leap to the canvas and had his first cycle of exhibits, Há diversos;Ad-versos. There he searched for a thematic-flow, creating a fertile space where light, shadows, colors, sound, silence, noise and poetry could meet in a universe multi-faceted, estimating and inviting the co-authorship of interpretation and creation from the observer.
The modifying eye and interference is the main focus of his research and work in progress. The artist searches for the relation and the integration with an inner time poetry.
The pursuit of distinct devices and the interrelation of languages are a fundamental characteristic of his work, as well as the research and use of new technologies.
As a poet, Ale developed research and creation of intermedia, digital, visual and sound poetry, besides the traditional format.
The artist debut in Poetry Anthologies and had his first book in 1993, Pólen de Timbres (Timber Pollen), edited by Letras Contemporaneas. Ópera Estelar (Starry Opera) and Praia Suspensa (Buoyant Beach) followed.
In the education area, Ale lectured at Souza Lima Conservatory, IAV Audio and Video Institute and offered workshops. He integrated the team of writers of Teclado e Tecnologia Magazine and created teaching materials of music theory.
